About Our Church

Where God’s love meets cultural heritage, and faith becomes family

Our Story: A Testament to God’s Faithfulness

Bethel Evangelical Church of Michigan began as a dream in the hearts of a few faithful believers who longed for a spiritual home that would honor both their Ethiopian and Eritrean heritage and their deep commitment to Jesus Christ. As the psalmist wrote, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). We can testify that God Himself has been the architect of our church family.

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (Matthew 18:20, ESV)

Community Formation

Developed into a vibrant, multicultural community where God’s love transcends all barriers.

Today – God’s Faithfulness

What Makes Us Unique

Cultural Celebration

We celebrate our Ethiopian and Eritrean heritage as a gift from God, creating worship that honors both cultural roots and spiritual foundation.

Deep Spirituality

Our faith is not just Sunday worship—it’s a daily commitment to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Community Care

We believe every member has a unique role in God’s kingdom, and we support each other in love and service.

Bridge Building

We build bridges between cultures, generations, and communities, always pointing people to Jesus Christ.
